EUROPE DIRECT Vratsa is a member of the EUROPE DIRECT network in Bulgaria (2009-2025), which in turn is part of a group of EUROPE DIRECT centres (2009 – 2025) located throughout Europe. Thanks to these centres, citizens have access to Europe and can participate in debates on the future of the EU. The network is managed by the European Commission.
The main objectives of Europe Direct Vratsa are:
-to interact with citizens in the Vratsa and Montana regions actively and continuously in order to ensure greater commitment to the European project;
-to enable citizens to make informed choices about the future of the EU by fully participating in the European democratic process;
-to raise awareness among citizens in the Vratsa and Montana regions about the benefits of the EU in their everyday lives and at the same time highlight the added value of the Union;
- to assist in identifying the aspects of EU policies that are relevant at local level (Vratsa and Montana regions);
- to structure messages and activities in line with local needs.
- to help prepare the ground for the strategic political priorities of the Commission and the Parliament;
- to listen to citizens’ expectations and provide feedback to the EU institutions.
- to work closely with the EC Representation in Bulgaria and the European Parliament Liaison Office in Bulgaria. The Centre also cooperates with other EU public relations networks and local contact points, including local European networks such as EEN Vratsa and EURES advisors from the Regional Employment Service – Montana, to promote exchange and coordination between them.
- to interact with local and regional media and provide feedback on citizens’ views and reactions on EU issues, participating in radio and television broadcasts and publishing articles, disseminating information, videos, messages about the EU.
-to work closely and expand the network of multipliers and influencers with new initiatives, participating in direct activities of schools.
As of January 1, 2026, our organization is no longer part of the Europe Direct network, but you can continue to ask us questions about EU policies, programs and priorities, as well as participate in events for the future of the EU organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Vratsa.
