CCI-Vratsa takes part in the launch event for project "European Digital Innovation Hub - Northwest Automotive Cluster Bulgaria" (EDIH-NWACB)

During the second day of the Automotive Forum 2025, held on 11–12 June at Sofia Tech Park, John Atanasoff Innovation Forum, the project "European Digital Innovation Hub – Northwest Automotive Cluster Bulgaria (EDIH-NWACB)" was officially presented.

The event was opened by Mr. Georgi Angelov, Deputy Minister of Innovation and Growth, and was attended by representatives of other international EDIHs who shared valuable experience and best practices.

The day focused on accelerating industrial digital transformation, with one of the key highlights being Discussion Panel 3: “Digitalization and Sustainability – The Role of EDIHs in the Green Transition.”

Galina Gavrilova, Business Development Expert at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Vratsa, participated in the panel and discussed with other speakers the current state of digitalization in Northwest Bulgaria, as well as how the services offered by the EDIH will support the adoption of green technologies, enhance digital skills among SMEs, and contribute to the development of regional innovation ecosystems.

The panel also explored opportunities for cross-sector collaboration, access to European networks, and the role of EDIHs in guiding local businesses through the green and digital transitions in line with EU policy goals.

About the project:
EDIH-NWACB is a joint initiative aimed at supporting Bulgaria’s manufacturing and automotive industries in their transition to Industry 4.0. The project is funded by the European Commission and the national programme "Research, Innovation and Digitalization for Smart Transformation" 2021-2027 (PRIDST), and will operate under the working name Automotive & Mobility EDIH BG.
