On 1st of February, 2019, a “Sharing Economy” Seminar was held in Vratsa. The event took place within the framework of “BeShared – Embracing Innovation and Interconnection in the Sharing Economy” Project funded under COSME Programme of the EU and implemented by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vratsa. The main goals of the project are: identifying SMEs operating in the sphere of the sharing economy in the partnering countries – Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, Croatia, and Belgium; fostering cooperation between SMEs, stakeholders, and social enterprises with potential for growth in the sphere of the sharing economy; provision of training and coaching services.
The seminar presented successful business models, including social enterprises in the sphere of the Shared Economy in the region of Vratsa. It also raised awareness and disseminated knowledge about the sharing economy and its growing importance in the global and regional economy.
The guest speakers in the seminar gave very useful examples of sharing economy in two different economy sectors – Information and technology - IT center “Vratsa Software Community”, and social entrepreneurship - “Baba Residence” and the Idea Factory.
There was a beneficial discussion between the speakers and the guests of the seminar, during which the NGO “Hope for Tomorrow”, active member in the social economy, presented the possible resources and knowledge for disadvantaged people.
