The first Gelato POP-UP Museum appeared during the annual Vratsa autumn fair. The POP-UP Museum is part of Creative Europe’ and the EU’s project - “GELATOn the Road”, in which the Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Vratsa is a partner. The initiative was organized and implemented by CCI - Vratsa, and took place on 14th and 15th September 2024. The program was filled with interactive activities, demonstrations, an exhibition and project presentations related to the history of gelato.
A main element of the POP-UP Museum was a surrealistic exhibition featuring a creative interpretation of Vratsa and gelato, with the paintings developed by students from the Profiled Language High School "Joan Exarch" - Vratsa.
Students from the cooking class of the Vocational High School of Trade and Catering (PGTR) did a cooking demonstration on how to make gelato, and students from the e-commerce class made a promotional video of the event and showed visitors how to advertise and promote their business online. All visitors had the opportunity to taste the delicious gelato and choose their favourite flavour. During the museum, students from the advertising design class of "Otets Paisiy" High School Vratsa also participated, who showed their gelato packaging designs and shared their creative process and what motivated their work.
Other highlights of the program were the children's corner and the youth corner. The little ones drew and coloured, imagining the gelato of their dreams, while the youngsters played Guess the Flavour.
The Vratsa POP-UP Museum is the first stop in a series of events that will take place on the territory of the European Union (EU) in 2024 and 2025. The purpose of the event is to promote the "GELATOn the Road" project, to raise awareness of gelato, and to support cultural and food tourism in the participating member states of the future European Road of the Gelato (ERoG).
