The Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Vratsa is proud to announce that the first good practice “Lions Balloon Festival” has been accepted and published on the Interreg Europe Portal (https://www.interregeurope.eu/policy-solutions/good-practices. This emphasizes the strategic importance of sharing innovative practices and expanding opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange between regions in Europe, contributing to the improvement of healthy lifestyles and increasing the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises in the field of sports and recreation.

The Lions Balloon Festival is organized by Lions Club – Vidin in partnership with the Municipality of Belogradchik, and offers a unique combination of hot air balloon experiences with traditional Bulgarian music, dance, and cuisine, attracting both adventure seekers and cultural enthusiasts. The festival includes a variety of activities such as jeep safaris, e-bike tours, and visits to Magura Cave, enhancing visitor engagement and maximizing local business benefits.

The Lions Balloon Festival is a replicable model for regions seeking to boost tourism by combining adventure and cultural experiences. Its model of all-inclusive adventure tourism, supporting community welfare through net revenues, could be adopted by rural areas across the EU. This approach has high potential to drive sustainable tourism, stimulate local economies, and enhance cultural pride in communities.
