  12:06, 22 Apr 25

On April 14th 2025, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Vratsa held the fifth stakeholder meeting within the framework of the "TOURBO" project, under the "Interreg Europe" program.

The main focus of the meeting was a continuation of the discussion from the previous semester, when the update of the "Regional Tourism Development Strategy for Vratsa Region for the period 2021-2027" was discussed, and tasks and a timeline were defined. The strategy is part of the TOURBO project's efforts to support small and medium-sized enterprises in tourism for the transition to more sustainable and innovative practices. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the information that was explored by the Vratsa Regional Administration and the Municipality of Vratsa, in order to proceed with the active work on the change/amendment/addition of the regional strategy.

The upcoming changes in the strategy, aimed at promoting sustainable tourism practices, together with the introduction of new digital technologies, were discussed.

Among the participants in the meeting in Vratsa were representatives of the Municipality of Vratsa, the Vratsa Regional Administration, the "Vrachanski Balkan" Nature Park, and organizations related to the development of tourism in the Vratsa region.

Another main focus was on public-private partnerships, which will play a crucial role in accelerating the transition to sustainable tourism by sharing resources and expertise. Such partnerships will allow the introduction of new technologies and sustainable practices in tourism, creating competitive tourism products.

The active participation of local communities in the processes of sustainable tourism development was also emphasized as a key factor for success. Local residents will be able to benefit from the social and economic benefits by receiving training and qualifications related to sustainable tourism.

Тhe TOURBO project collaborates with local authorities, tourism entities, and residents to foster a collective commitment to green, digital, and sustainable tourism.
