On September 10, 2025, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Vratsa organized a seminar titled “Where the Mediterranean Meets the Mountains: Bulgaria through the Taste of Tradition” within the framework of the MedDiet Go project, funded by the INTERREG Euro-MED Programme. The seminar was part of the project’s “Co-creation Living Labs,” designed to bridge traditional knowledge and innovation.
The event brought together representatives of diverse stakeholder groups, including SMEs, organizations, and tourism experts. The focus was placed on the development of gastronomic tourism in the region and its integration into existing tourism packages through the application of innovative methodologies and solutions.
During the seminar, the key activities and objectives of the MedDiet Go project were presented, along with good practices from the MD.net project and the activities of the MD.net network, which encompasses more than 60 innovative initiatives implemented by SMEs.
Participants had the opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas through group work and discussions dedicated to designing new tourism routes and products that combine Mediterranean identity with local cuisine. The seminar concluded with a discussion on visions, potential partnerships, and the challenges facing the development of gastronomic tourism in the region.
