On 5 September 2025, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Vratsa organized the third project meeting within ACTIVE ID (Interreg Europe). The session brought together key regional stakeholders: representatives of the District Administration Vratsa, two experts from the Municipality of Vratsa’s Sport Department, a representative of the Vrachanski Balkan Nature Park, and the Agency for Regional and Economic Development – Vratsa.
The meeting focused on the evolution of the project and its growing impact in the region. Partners discussed the progress made in strengthening the local sports & leisure innovation ecosystem, as well as opportunities for SMEs to benefit from digital and green upskilling measures foreseen under the project.
Another important point on the agenda was the second submitted good practice, the immersive VR tourism experience developed in Vratsa. Participants reflected on how such practices showcase innovation in the sports, leisure, and tourism sectors and how they can inspire policy improvements not only locally, but also in other European regions.
The meeting also served as a platform to exchange ideas on future activities – including upcoming study visits, masterclasses, and opportunities for deeper involvement of local institutions and SMEs in the project’s learning process.
By engaging local authorities, environmental institutions, and development agencies, the ACTIVE ID project continues to bridge policy, innovation, and community needs, ensuring that the sports and leisure sector in Northwest Bulgaria remains competitive, inclusive, and resilient.
