On October 15, 2025, the second stakeholder workshop under the SymbioTech project, funded by the European Union, took place in Byala Slatina, Bulgaria. The event brought together representatives of local authorities and businesses who discussed the project’s progress and the prospects for developing industrial symbiosis in Bulgaria.
The team of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vratsa presented the results of the international survey on the state of industrial symbiosis in the partner countries, highlighting key data and insights regarding good practices, challenges, and potential opportunities for applying digital solutions in industrial collaboration.
Participants also discussed the next steps of the project, focused on building knowledge and capacity for the implementation of digital industrial symbiosis, as well as strengthening cooperation between enterprises and research organizations.
The meeting concluded with an open discussion, during which participants shared ideas and proposals to promote sustainable resource use and circular business models at the regional level.
