On 5 December 2025, the Fourth Stakeholder Meeting under the project “Promoting a Healthy Lifestyle among Citizens in Different EU Regions through Innovative Approaches and Solutions (Active ID)” was held in the city of Vratsa, organised by the Vratsa Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The event brought together representatives of the Vratsa Regional Administration, Vratsa Municipality, the Vratsa Youth Centre, Vrachanski Balkan Nature Park, the “Knigini” Association, as well as local businesses, including companies operating in the fields of digitalization and technological services.
During the meeting, the project team presented the progress achieved so far, including the international study visits carried out, the good practices published at European level, and the analysis of the sports and leisure industry in the Vratsa region. Participants discussed inspiring examples from the Netherlands and Spain related to promoting active lifestyles, sports tourism, and innovative digital solutions.
A focus discussion followed, during which participants exchanged ideas and views on the potential for developing sports, digitalization, and active tourism in the region, as well as opportunities for closer cooperation between institutions, businesses, and local organizations.
The meeting also included a panel entitled “How Can Sport Stimulate Sustainable Tourism?”, highlighting the role of natural resources, outdoor activities, sports initiatives, and digital tools as drivers of sustainable development. Participants shared ideas on integrating sports routes, events, and new partnerships that could contribute to a more attractive and active tourist destination.
During the working session, participants completed a short questionnaire aimed at gathering suggestions and perspectives for future initiatives and policies in the Vratsa region. The questionnaire remains open for additional written feedback and follow-up meetings. The collected input will be analysed and used as a basis for further project activities and for planning future actions related to active lifestyles and regional development.
The Active ID project continues to promote the integration of sport, innovation, and digital solutions into regional policies with the aim of improving quality of life and supporting the sustainable development of the Vratsa region.
