From 5 to 7 October 2026, the final conference of the TOURBO – “Boosting the transition pathway of MSMEs in tourism with green and digital transformation” project, funded under the Interreg Europe 2021–2027 Programme, took place in Bremerhaven, Germany.
The event brought together representatives of the partner regions, the tourism sector, experts, and organisations involved in policy development and implementation, with a focus on the practical implementation of the green and digital transition in tourism.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vratsa was represented by Mrs Iliana Filipova, Chair of the Management Board, and Mrs Svetlana Borisova, Expert International Cooperation and Communication Manager of the project.
One of the highlights of the programme was the session “From Strategy to Implementation – How INSPIRES empowers TOURBO regions to accelerate the twin transition”, which presented the links between TOURBO and the INSPIRES project. On behalf of CCI Vratsa, Mrs. Svetlana Borisova presented “From Strategy to SME Action – What happens when financial and technical support reaches tourism SMEs”, highlighting how regional policies can be complemented by practical financial, technical and expert support for tourism SMEs.
Svetlana Borisova also presented the Bulgarian experience during the session “Regional Experiences: From Challenges to Solutions”, dedicated to successful approaches, challenges and key lessons from the implementation of the project across the partner regions.
The programme also included thematic discussions and visits to the German Emigration Center and Climate House Bremerhaven, showcasing practical examples of sustainable and digital solutions in tourism.
The final conference provided an opportunity to summarise the achievements of TOURBO and exchange ideas on how the experience gained can be further applied in support of a more sustainable and competitive tourism sector.
