On 26 October 2026, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vratsa organised the first interactive workshop under the European project UpSkillOne, focusing on continuous learning and skills development in micro-enterprises.
At the centre of the workshop was the question of how people learn and find solutions when a new challenge appears in their everyday work.
Participants worked with real situations from their own professional experience – changes in specialised software, problems with applications and websites, digital information management, online visibility and other tasks requiring new knowledge or a different approach.
Using a specially designed learning-journey canvas, each situation was followed step by step: how the need emerged, where information or support was sought, how a solution was chosen, what was learned along the way and how the new knowledge was applied back in the workplace.
The discussion also made visible many forms of learning that often remain outside the traditional idea of training – independent information searching, trial and error, consultation with specialists, the use of online resources and learning directly through solving a concrete task.
Participants also discussed what can delay or interrupt this process. Among the most frequently highlighted factors were limited time, cost and difficulties in finding training that is sufficiently practical, trustworthy and closely connected to a specific business need.
The workshop allowed participants to compare and discuss different situations and approaches – when a person can find a solution independently, when external support is needed and what type of learning would be most useful in a real working environment.
The experience and ideas shared in Vratsa will contribute to the next stages of UpSkillOne, helping ensure that the solutions developed by the project are closer to the everyday needs of people working in micro-enterprises.
UpSkillOne is implemented with the support of the European Union’s Erasmus+ Programme.
