On 27–28 May 2026, the team of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vratsa participated in a partner meeting of the project “Reindustrialisation Following the Brownfield is Better than Greenfield Principle” (ReInd-BBG). The international event was hosted in Nikšić, Montenegro, by the project partners Municipality of Nikšić and EPCG – Željezara Nikšić steel plant.
The two-day forum brought together international project partners to exchange experience, review progress achieved so far, and discuss the next steps for the revitalisation of abandoned industrial sites across the Danube Region. Several working sessions were organised to assess interim project results, discuss key findings, and validate the tools developed within the project.
Participants reviewed the progress of the pilot sites, exchanged good practices, and formulated recommendations for improving public policies related to brownfield regeneration. Particular attention was given to the development of new ideas and future joint initiatives aimed at supporting sustainable development and the economic recovery of neglected industrial areas.
The meeting further strengthened cooperation among project partners and reinforced the shared commitment to transforming underutilised industrial sites into attractive locations for investment, innovation, and sustainable growth.
