On 24-25 September 2024, the third partnership meeting of the "GELATOn the Road" project, part of the "Creative Europe" program, took place in Vienna, Austria. Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Vratsa (CCI-Vratsa), Mrs. Iliana Filipova - Chairman of the Board of Directors of CCI-Vratsa, and Ms. Ekaterina Nikolova - Marketing Expert, actively participated in the meeting.
The project, with a duration of 36 months until March 31, 2026, aims to create the first European Road of Gelato (ERoG), focused on promoting and preserving local cultural heritage and identity. A key element are the Gelato POP-UP museums, which will be held in all twelve countries involved in the project (Italy, Belgium, Greece, Germany, Luxembourg, Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Austria, Spain, Poland, and Bulgaria).
The third partnership meeting in Vienna was dedicated to monitoring the project's implementation, analysing work packages, and presenting the first Gelato POP-UP Museum in Vratsa, Bulgaria.
CCI-Vratsa presented in detail the Gelato POP-UP Museum in Vratsa, held on 14-15 September 2024, during the 135th Vratsa Autumn Fair. The POP-UP Museum featured a surrealist exhibition, a presentation on the history of gelato around the world and in Bulgaria, a project presentation, and a cooking demonstration on "How to make gelato". A children's and youth corner were also set up, offering many games and entertainment for young and old.
During the partnership meeting, CCI-Vratsa also presented the results of a training on "Vratsa, gelato, and cultural tourism - How to promote your business?", held on 19th September 2024.
The partnership meeting concluded with a summary of the discussed topics and new best practices for the development of cultural and gastronomic tourism in Vratsa and the region.
In essence, the meeting focused on the progress of the "GELATOn the Road" project, the success of the Gelato POP-UP Museum in Vratsa, and future plans for promoting cultural and gastronomic tourism in the region.
